Dinner in a Dish Casserole
Instructions
PREPARE CRUMB TOPPING. In a skillet over medium heat melt the butter or margarine and lightly brown the crumbs. PREPARE NOODLES. Cook noodles according to package directions and drain. Coat the noodles with melted butter. PREPARE GROUND BEEF. In a large skillet cook the beef, onions, and green pepper over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink then drain off excess oil. Add tomatoes and blend in flour (for those wishing more tomato flavor you may add a ten ounce can of condensed tomato soup). Add seasonings and simmer five minutes. For us the ingredients are right on, but as noted when originally posting the recipe -- you can add extra seasonings of your choice if you wish, if you are wanting a spicier version. ASSEMBLY. Spray your favorite 2 quart casserole or a baking dish with cooking spray. Start your layers with noodles alternating with the hamburger. Add the shredded cheese and top with the bread crumbs. Bake uncovered in a 325 degree oven for 25 or 30 minutes (Time varies from oven to oven).
